Private + Professional

Dr. Katie Penry, LLC is a boutique clinic serving a small number of adults, families, and children. I prioritize excellence of care, privacy, and continuing education. I have training from competitive institutions and abundant experience working with a broad range of disorders, dysfunctions, and diagnosis. Because of this, I do not accept insurance of any kind. The care I provide is careful, custom, and high in quality. Insurance is a burden not only on patient privacy, but on my time - time that I would prefer using to give my clients the absolute best experience possible.

On day, in retrospect, the years of struggle will strike you as the most beautiful.

MY philosophy

While I consider myself to be a psychoanalytically oriented therapist, I am eclectic in intervention - always referencing the best practices for a specific disorder or dysfunction and proceeding collaboratively. The most important goal is your goals. Ultimately, psychotherapy is a “coming alongside.”

About Me

I graduated with a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Wheaton College in Illinois. My residency was completed at Mississippi State Hospital - one of the largest inpatient facilities in the USA. There, I served as chief resident. I acquired postdoctoral training at Brookhaven Institute and most recently, I completed training at Harvard’s Brazelton Institute in Newborn Behavior Observation. I remain active in Zero to Three, APA, and several other professional organizations. Continuing education and learning are cornerstones of my practice.
